Ushers

Are you retired? Are you a high school or college student in need of service hours?

Volunteer ushers are a vital part of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati family at The Taft Theatre for our MainStage performances. Whether seating a classroom of kindergarteners about to enjoy their first live theatre performance or helping a family of six find seats together during opening night excitement, ushers ensure that our patrons enjoy the very best experience possible during their time with us.

Ushering is also a great community service opportunity for groups. Volunteers learn what goes into running a theater while honing their interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. TCT will track volunteer hours, fill out any necessary paperwork and help volunteers get the most out of their experience.

Ushers are needed for School Performances which take place on weekday mornings, and Public Performances which take place on Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Please consider a gift to The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati. This year, more than ever, we are depending on contributions from people like you – people who support our children and our community, and believe in the power of the arts to enrich the lives of those who are touched by it. Your generous gift to The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati is put to work in so many ways. For example:

  • A gift of $15 can bring a hardworking student to the theatre for the very first time.
  • Our costume designer can sew your $50 gift into a talking teapot, a princess's gown or a reindeer's tail.
  • Our talented set designer may paint your gift of $150 onto a flat canvas and create a magical castle or a spooky cave.
  • Your gift of $500 could fill the gas tank of our touring company's van for one week (ok, maybe part of a week!) allowing them to bring the gift of theater directly to our children's schools.

At The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati we have designed benefits to bring you closer to our work and thank you for your generosity. We hope you will become a member of The Children’s Theatre family today.
