Fall Day

Available September 1 - November 1, 2015

Appreciate the joy, colors, and beauty of autumn in this companion piece to “Snow Day” and “Spring Day.” Join a cast of friendly animals as they get ready for the approaching winter! Along the way, your students will experience changes in nature and the cycles of human emotions, and learn how important it is to “be prepared.”

The Rough-Faced Girl Speaks

Using the Native American Cinderella Story, The Rough-Faced Girl by Rafe Martin, students will "travel" to an Algonquin village and experience Native American culture through story, song, and interactive play.

NEW WorkShop!  Take a trip back in time to the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Experience the words of Dr. King from a new perspective with a Teaching Artist from The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati. Take a closer look at the metaphors and similes used to express the “fierce urgency of now,” and create your own “dream speech.”

Learn healthy habits with Chef Bon Appetite as he teaches rambunctious Chip the importance of eating right, and humdrum Tofutti the value of creative exercise. In this interactive WorkShop, theater meets nutrition as we encourage students to think "outside the box" and eat "inside the pyramid!"

Stop Bullying Me!

Pre-K “Play” (Residency)

Grades: preK-2

6-8 weeks
Have one of our highly creative Teaching Artists come to your class to facilitate a mini-play based on one of three classic fairy tales: The Little Red Hen, Goldilocks and The Three Bears, or Mary and Her Little Lambs. By giving students an active role in developing the play, this residency is specifically designed to encourage confidence in reading, writing and sharing ideas with others.

Self-Esteem Through Self-Expression (Residency)

Grades: K-12

13 weeks
Using dramatic play as a tool to assist in the development of self-esteem, this Residency centers on theater games and word play, building concentration, physicality, vocal projection, articulation, poise, coordination and multi-tasking. A cumulative final performance is optional and will demonstrate dramatic skills learned from the program.

From the Page to the Stage (Residency)

Grades: 2-8

8-12 weeks
There's no better way to absorb fully the books you read in class than to take words from the page to the stage! In this multi-visit Residency, our Teaching Artist will help facilitate deeper understanding of state required reading by bringing characters to life as your class writes, directs, and acts out stories they will NEVER forget.
