The mission of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT) is to educate, entertain, and engage audiences of all ages through professional theatrical productions and arts education programming. We fulfill our mission through three primary programs:
• TCT MainStage at the Emery Theater
• TCT On Tour

TCT AUDITION CASTING NOTICE

Seeking Adults & Professional Youth Actors for TCT’s 26/27 MainStage Season at the Emery Theater

PETER PAN JR. & 101 DALMATIANS THE MUSICAL

The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT) is holding auditions in August for the third and fourth MainStage productions in their 2026-2027 season at the EMERY THEATER.

All roles are paid positions.

TCT, the nation’s oldest professional theatre for young audiences, is passionate about creating an inclusive workplace and is committed to a dynamic casting process. All roles are open to everyone regardless of ethnicity, background, ability, or gender identity.

Upon audition registration, you may indicate which shows for which you would like to be considered. Auditions are by appointment only.

You only need ONE audition appointment, even if you are interested in both productions.

Adult performers and young performers ages 9-18 who would like to be considered for TCT’s Young Artist Company, may make an audition appointment by visiting:

101 DALMATIANS THE MUSICAL callbacks will take place SATURDAY, August 22, 2026, 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM.

PETER PAN JR. callbackswill take place SUNDAY, August 23, 2026, 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM.

Auditions and Callbacks are held at TCT’s headquarters located at: 4015 Red Bank Road, Cincinnati OH 45227.

SUBMISSIONS:

If you are absolutely unable to attend auditions in person, fill out an audition form and select “waiting list” as your time slot.

Please email Maddie Jones at Maddie.Jones@tctcincinnati.com stating you will be submitting virtually and include a video submission of your song no later than Sunday, August 14, 2026.

From there, if we need to see more, we will send you callback information by Wednesday, August 19, 2026. If you are unable to attend callbacks, you will need to submit callback materials by Sunday, August 23, 2026.

PREPARATION CHECKLIST

Please prepare the piano sheet music for a memorized song that shows your acting and vocal range. (1-minute max). The song must be age-appropriate. Remember to have your PIANO SHEET MUSIC ACCOMPANIMENT, as we will not be auditioning for a cappella skills. An accompanist will be provided. Your sheet music MUST have the piano part, not just the vocal line, and music should be in a 3-ring binder with any cuts CLEARLY marked for the accompanist.

You only need a song. You do NOT need to prepare a monologue.

ABOUT THE SHOW: Second star to the right and straight on ’til morning! Directed by Paula Rakestraw, this 60-minute version of the classic musical Peter Pan soars onto The Emery stage with spectacular choreography, high-flying aerial whimsy, and important themes around the power of faith, trust and a bit of pixie dust. Join a colorful range of characters from Captain Hook to Tinkerbell in J.M Barrie’s masterpiece and be transported to Neverland through this magical, high-flying musical adventure.

SEEKING THE FOLLOWING:

[PETER PAN] Female or Male, a boy without a care in the world who leads the Darling’s on an adventure to Neverland. Strong actor, singer, dancer, belt to a C. Must be comfortable with heights & flights.

[WENDY] Female, the eldest of the Darling children with a certain maternal quality. She is very bright, ever-practical, and ready for an adventure. Strong actor/singer, sings up to D-flat. Must be comfortable with heights & flights.

[JOHN] Male, the middle Darling child, he is amicable and more proper than his younger brother Strong singer/actor/mover sings up to D-flat. Must be comfortable with heights & flights.

[MICHAEL] Male, the youngest Darling boy with unlimited energy who is also a bit stubborn. Strong singer/actor/mover sings up to D flat. Must be comfortable with heights & flights.

[NANA] Male or Female, the Darling’s dog. Strong actor/mover with a good sense of physicality.

[MRS. DARLING] Female, the loving matriarch of the Darling family, who is able to manage the entire household with ease. Strong actor/singer, sings up to a D-flat.

[MR. DARLING/CAPTAIN HOOK] *Primarily seeking understudy* Male, the father of Wendy, John & Michael, a man with one concern: keeping his house in order. Doubles as Captain Hook, the leader of the Pirates and villain of the show who is also a bit of a clown. Strong actor/singer with GREAT comedic timing, sings to an E.

[LIZA] Female, the Darling’s housekeeper who always seems to be in a bit of a frenzy as she tries to keep everyone pleased. Strong actor/singer.

[TIGER LILY] Female, the fearless leader of the Brave Girls. Tumbling is required. Strong technical dancer/singer/actor, sings up to a D-Flat.

[SMEE] Male, Hook’s sidekick who wants nothing more than to see Hook succeed in his evil plotting. Strong comedic actor.

[MALE & FEMALE ENSEMBLE] Skilled and versatile dancer/actor/singers of all ages to portray Lost Boys including (Nibs, Slightly, Curley, Tootles & Twins), Brave Girls, and Pirates and possibly cover principal roles. Tumbling skills and dance technique a HUGE plus!

SEEKING THE FOLLOWING:

[TOM] Tom is the soft-spoken aspiring fashion designer and owner of Pongo. His flustered and nervous presence acts as a contrast to the effervescent Cruella. He should be a strong actor, singer, and mover.

[DANIELLE] Danielle is a sweet and nurturing woman whose kind disposition acts as a stark contrast to Cruella’s cruelty. She should be a strong singer, actor, and mover.

[PERDI AND PONGO] Perdita and Pongo, the puppies’ parents, have similar dispositions to their owners, Roger and Anita. Advanced puppeteering is necessary. Actors should be strong singers, actors, and puppeteers.

[CRUELLE] Cruella is the rich, fashion-forward antagonist of the story who harbors a penchant for puppy fur. Ruthless and impulsive, she should command the stage with dramatic flair and brassiness. She has a strong, authoritative presence – and can move with a high, captivating energy. She should be an excellent singer and actor.

[JASPER AND CASPER] Casper and Jasper, Cruella’s two nephew henchmen, provide the show’s comic relief à la Abbott and Costello or Laurel and Hardy. These actors should have strong comedic timing who can excel at physical comedy.

[PUPPETEER ENSEMBLE] The Puppeteer Ensemble is made up of teens and adults who will puppeteer several characters and perform as other non-puppeteer ensemble members. Must be strong singer/actors with expertise in puppeteering.
