  • Self-Esteem Through Self-Expression
    45-minute Interactive WorkShop, Grades K-8

    Using dramatic play as a tool to assist in the development of self-esteem, this WorkShop centers on theater games and word play, building concentration, physicality, vocal projection, articulation, poise, coordination and multi-tasking.     45-minute Interactive WorkShop, Grades PreK-4

    Learn healthy habits with Chef Bon Appetite as he teaches rambunctious Chip the importance of eating right, and humdrum Tofutti the value of creative exercise. In this interactive puppet WorkShop, theater meets nutrition as we encourage students to think "outside the box" and eat "inside the pyramid!"     Join us on a journey through a magical winter forest as we discover enchanting creatures, exciting new lands and a pair of identical snowflakes. Take a trip through an enchanted meadow with our Caterpillar friend Persephone, sailing into the spring skies as she explores the transformations around and within her.   • The Rough-Faced Girl Speaks
    45-minute Interactive WorkShop, Grades 2-8

    Using the Native American Cinderella Story, The Rough-Faced Girl by Rafe Martin, students will "travel" to an Algonquin village and experience Native American culture through story, song, and interactive play. Thematic Connections: Music, Arts Integration, Social Studies, Geography, Language Arts

  • Adventures with Mark Twain
    45-minute Interactive WorkShop, Grades 4-8

    Samuel Clemens, more commonly known as Mark Twain, has captured imaginations for generations with his witty observations of American life. Experience the works, the life, and the times of the man often called the "father of American literature." Thematic Connections: History, Biography, Literature, Critical Thinking, Public Speaking, Music, Arts Integration

    Presented in collaboration with the Taft Museum of Art
    45-minute Interactive WorkShop, Grades K-8

    This WorkShop combines the stimulation of visual arts and the dynamics of theater exercises to prompt and creativity, imagination, critical thinking and public speaking skills. Thematic Connections: Cross-Curricular, History, Critical Thinking, Language Arts, Visual Arts

  • Stop Bullying Me!
    45-minute Interactive WorkShop, Grades 3-8

    Presented with the help of the Northern Kentucky Heath Department, students will learn and practice methods to conflict resolution, self-respect, and respect for others through discussion, writing, and role-playing. Thematic Connections: Cross-Curricular, Social Skills, Critical Thinking

  • "Once Upon a Time..."
    45-minute Interactive WorkShop, Grades 2-6

    This fun and interactive WorkShop will bring new life to classic fairy tales. Students will gain a historical context, be introduced to primary thematic elements, and have the opportunity to bring some of their favorite fairy tales to life. Thematic Connections: History, Literature, Arts Integration

  • Self-Esteem Through Self-Expression
    Multiple-visit Residency: 13 weeks, Grades K-12

    Using dramatic play as a tool to assist in the development of self-esteem, this Residency centers on theater games and word play, building concentration, physicality, vocal projection, articulation, poise, coordination and multi-tasking. A cumulative final performance is optional and will demonstrate dramatic skills learned from the program. Thematic Connections: Cross-Curricular, Social Skills, Critical Thinking, Arts Integration

  • From the Page, To the Stage
    Multiple-visit Residency: 8-12 weeks, Grades 2-8

    There's no better way to absorb fully the books you read in class than to take words from the page to the stage! In this multi-visit residency, our teaching artist will help facilitate deeper understanding of state required reading by bringing characters to life as your class writes, directs, and acts out stories they will NEVER forget. Thematic Connections: Literature, Writing, Reading, Arts Integration

  • After-School "Matters"
    Multiple-visit Residency: 3-8 weeks, Grades 2-8

    Addressing issues such as conflict resolution, manners, self-esteem, bullying, and body image, our professional Teaching Artists provide an innovative opportunity to enhance your after school program! Using the theatrical arts as a medium, this program will encourage your students to explore resolution in the many questions that arise from these topics, finally allowing acceptance and understanding of one's self and others in a fun and creative atmosphere.   • When I Grow Up...
    Presented in collaboration with LOCAL 12
    WorkShop Performance, Grades K-12

    Join LOCAL 12's Bob Herzog and Teaching Artist Jen Scott to find out how to live your dream! Ever wonder what it might be like to be a lawyer? An actor? A teacher? A salesperson? A singer? A TV anchor? In this interactive performance, learn the importance of leadership, teamwork, work ethic and determination, giving your students the opportunity to expand their horizons and have a little fun along the way.   • Martin's Dream
    WorkShop Performance, Grades 2-8

    Who was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., really? Martin's Dream answers this question and more as it brings this historical figure to life through the power of story, speech and song. Watch as Dr. King tells the story of his life, from his childhood in the Deep South all the way to the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, where he delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. Created and performed by the talented and charismatic Deondra Kamau Means, this one-man show explores the real person behind the pictures, a funny, intelligent, passionate man whose faith, family and education made him one of the most revered people in our nation's history. Thematic Connections: History, Literature, Critical Thinking, Public Speaking, Music, Arts Integration
