CINCINNATI, OH — The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati offers an intensive training program in acting, dance, and voice using professional teaching artists as instructors. The program is a collaboration with Northern Kentucky University’s Department of Theatre and Dance.* A formal audition is required to be accepted into the program. Professional classes and enrichment in musical theatre will also be offered as part of the program.

Auditions for 9-18 year olds who have had previous theatre experience or arts training or those who have a true interest in exploring the performing arts will be

Saturday, January 27, 2007 from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm
The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati

The STAR program will run for 4 weeks: Monday, July 9 – Friday, August 3, 2007 from 10 AM-3 PM.

The Little STAR program will run for 3 weeks: Monday July 16 – Friday, August 3, 2007 from 10 AM -2 PM.

Two culminating performances will be at 6 pm and 8 pm on Friday, August 3, 2007 for both the 4-week STAR Program and the 3-week Little STAR Program.

Cost of Tuition:

• STAR program - $450.00 per student for the 4-week program
• Little STAR program - $350.00 per student for the 3-week program
• (Tuition includes the cost of the performance T-shirts & program materials.)

• Audition appointments will be scheduled in the order received.
• Auditions blocks will be 5 minutes maximum.
• You must have an appointment in order to audition!

Audition Guidelines:

• Memorize one song that best shows vocal ability; musical theatre songs preferred.
• Memorize a one-minute monologue; look to monologue books available in the library or online.
• Wear comfortable clothing; come prepared to dance in appropriate shoes.
• All are encouraged to show movement during his or her song of choice.
• Bring to the audition: a picture or headshot AND a resume of past experience or training

Note: Students will be placed in either the STAR or Little STAR program based on talent, experience, ability, & age.

*All classrooms/rehearsal spaces and performances will take place in the Fine Arts Building on the campus of Northern Kentucky University.
