The Children's Theatre Announces 2005 STAR Program Auditions

CINCINNATI, OH — The Children's Theatre, in collaboration with the Northern Kentucky University Theatre Department, is presenting a 3-week program and a 4-week program for students interested in the fine arts offering intense training and enrichment in the performing arts.
Both the S.T.A.R. (Stars That Are Rising) and Little S.T.A.R. programs will require a formal audition, and will offer training and enrichment in acting, dance, and voice, with Professional Artists as instructors. Professional workshops will also be offered as part of the programs.;-P:
The S.T.A.R. program will be auditioning 12-17 year olds, who have had previous theatre experience or arts training. The Little S.T.A.R. will be auditioning 8-11 year olds who have a true interest in exploring the performing arts.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2005 from 10:00am to 5:00pm on the first floor of the Fine Arts Building at Northern Kentucky University. Follow signs to Room 116.
The S.T.A.R. Program will run from Tuesday, July 5 - Friday, July 29, 2005 from 10 AM to 3 PM. The Little S.T.A.R. Program will run from Monday, July 11 - Friday, July 29 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
There will be a culminating performance on the evening of Friday, July 29, beginning at 7:30 PM. Tuition for the S.T.A.R. program is $450 and the Little S.T.A.R. programs is $350.00 per student, which includes S.T.A.R. program materials, a performance video and a S.T.A.R. t-shirt.
ALL APPOINTMENTS FOR AUDITIONS CAN BE MADE BY CALLING KATIE PIOTROWSKI, THE CHILDREN'S THEATRE'S BOX OFFICE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER, AT (513) 569-8080 EXT 10. AN APPOINTMENT MUST BE MADE TO AUDITION. Audition appointments will be scheduled in the order of the calls received. Auditions blocks will be approximately 5 minutes long.
All auditionees should memorize a one song that best shows their vocal ability and a one-minute monologue. S.T.A.R. program auditionees should wear comfortable clothing, and come prepared to dance. Little S.T.A.R. auditionees will not be expected to have a formal dance audition, but are encouraged to show movement in his or her song of choice. Please bring a picture or headshot, along with a resume of past experience or training, if available.
All classrooms and rehearsal/performance spaces will be furnished by Northern Kentucky University. All classes and performances will take place at Northern Kentucky University in the Fine Arts Building and on their Main Theatre Stage.
